Follow Friday!!

I just came across Follow Friday, hosted by Parajunkee.  It's a great way to find new reviewers to follow!  I am adding new blog feeds like crazy!  If that is what brought you by -- thanks for checking me out!

This week's Follow Friday Question:

Do You Judge a Book by Its Cover?

I do and I have found some great books because of it.  I found myself being drawn over and over again to the cover of City of Bones (Mortal Instruments) by Cassandra Clare.  Finally, I picked it up on a trip to Target and have been hooked on the series ever since.  In fact, I am currently reading City of Fallen Angels (Mortal Instruments, Book 4).  And I have no doubt that I have probably missed out on a few good books because I was turned off by the cover.  The cover is the first thing you see, designed to grab your attention.  If that fails, then most of time I won't even read the blurb unless it's a book I've been recommended.

  3. I'm the same way. I don't usually read the blurb unless the cover strikes me.

  5. Hello! I'm a new follower from FF and I am the same way with book covers. If the cover is nice enough to catch my attention, then I'm probably going to read it. Nine times out of ten, it ends up being a great book! Have a great weekend!

  7. I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

I expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog - http://www.howardsherman.net

    Thank God it's Follow Friday!?

  9. Hi! A bit late hopping over now perhaps, but I only found your blog just now! New follower!

I do judge books by cover, but only while browsing for new ones. Cover and title are what makes me interested in reading more about a book. I never buy a book only based on the cover though, but the storyline and description are what decide if I'll end up giving it a try or not! :)

And, without a doubt, I judge a book by it's cover. The cover is what makes me pick it up or walk away.
